The Norwalk River Watershed Association is asking for volunteers to help restore the riverbank at the new Pocket Park in Wilton Center, across from the Stop & Shop and River Park shopping center on River Road. They need volunteers this Saturday, June 24, 9-11 a.m..

The restoration is part of National Pollinator Week (June 19-25). Volunteers will help remove invasive plants and replace them with native, pollinator-friendly plants. The Pocket Park and adjacent Schenck’s Island are spots along the new Wilton Pollinator Pathway. Tools, gloves and refreshments will be supplied. Volunteers should wear long pants, long sleeves and closed-toe shoes to protect from poison ivy and ticks. Interested participants can register via email.
