Wilton High School Varsity Baseball has had a great season, and the team hopes to capture the FCIAC title this Friday night, May 26, when they take on Ridgefield at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport at the FCIAC Baseball Championship Game.
“We are so happy for this great bunch of kids, to be able to go to the finals again this year. They have been working hard since March to get to this point,” says Mark Ketley, the team’s pitching coach, who adds, “It’s a great moment for our seniors.”
They earned the title berth by powering 12-3 over Darien in the semifinal round Wednesday evening, which also happened to be the team’s seventh straight win.
Friday night’s finals will constitute a rematch between the rival towns, following on the heels of the meeting between the Ridgefield Tigers and the Wilton Warriors in the FCIAC Boys Basketball Championship.
Game time Friday is 7 p.m.. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults (parking fee not included). There is a student fan bus; students can sign up in the athletic office by 12:30 p.m. on Friday, and the cost is $3 for a seat.
