GOOD Morning Wilton took part in “Career Awareness Day” at Middlebrook School, as one of more than 60 professionals talking to students about jobs and careers. The students who attended each of the sessions with wrote news briefs as a group about their take on the experience. This brief was written by the kids who came to GMW‘s third session.

On Wednesday afternoon, March 18, middle schoolers at Middlebrook walked around their school and listened to people talk about their jobs. A variety of presenters from different fields and professions spoke to the students–ranging from landscape architect, retailers, small business owners, TV producers, culinary experts, advertising executives–in truth, a lot of the students felt like there were too many careers to take in.

“It’s overwhelming that all these other doors are open and they all sound really cool. Then you look at all the education that it took, and it seems like it takes a lot of work to get there someday,” said Ainsley Kohler, an eighth grader.
