There’s a public hearing tonight, Monday Sept. 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall. The Board of Selectmen wants to hear from Wilton residents to find out feedback on a proposed amendment to the town’s liquor sales ordinance. Currently, sales of alcohol on Sunday is prohibited in Wilton; it is legal in the state of Connecticut, however. One local wine and package goods store owner, Mitch Ancona, is urging the BoS to change that Wilton prohibition.
What do you think? Now that Wilton has become a ‘wet’ town every other day of the week, should package stores be permitted to open for business on Sundays? Or should the ordinance be left the way it is, restricting alcohol sales only to Monday through Saturday?
