Don’t miss the upcoming Special Needs Water Safety Day hosted by the Riverbrook Regional YMCA in collaboration with Angel Fish and sponsored by Quinnipiac University and Stew Leonard’s. This free special event will take place on Sunday, July 28, from 9-11 a.m., offering a unique opportunity for children with special needs as well as swim instructors to enhance their water safety skills and experience.
The event offers a morning of aquatic education and fun in the YMCA’s 50-meter pool, splash pad and pond. The Y’s dedicated staff will guide swimmers and instructors through various stations including a lifejacket station, rescue tube station, and deep end jumping station. These activities are designed to help swimmers feel comfortable and confident in a water environment. There will be snacks, crafts and freeplay in the pond in addition to the instruction
Registration is required for this free event, which has a limit of 60 participants. Both participants (special needs children and their guardians/family members) and swim instructors can secure spots by visiting the Wilton YMCA website.
