A much nicer week (July 17-23) of weather is in store in comparison to last week’s very stormy and unsettled one. Most of the days will be dry and sunny and there is the potential for extreme heat midweek.

Monday, July 17:  Monday will be a gorgeous day to kick off the new week, featuring sunny to partly cloudy skies and a high right around the average of 83 degrees. It will be on the humid side so it will feel sticky, and there is the slight chance for a shower or storm to be on the lookout for.

Tuesday, July 18:  Humidity will become oppressive on Tuesday as the chance for storms increases. Most of the day will be dry and partly cloudy, but a couple hit or miss showers and thunderstorms are possible during the day. These storms will definitely not be as strong as last Thursday’s, which knocked out power to a small portion of town.

Wednesday, July 19:  Again, there is the slight chance for a storm on Wednesday due to the heat and humidity, but the day will more likely be dry with a mix of sun and clouds in the forecast. The main story on Wednesday will be the heat, as a monster ridge of high pressure builds into the middle of the country. Highs in our neck of the woods are expected to soar into the upper 80s.

Thursday, July 20:  On Thursday, a new storm system will enter the picture, ushering in the isolated chance for a thunderstorm. Thursday will also be another hazy, hot, and humid day. The main activity looks to be Thursday night, however, so good luck sleeping because there may be some thunder!

Friday, July 21:  By Friday, we get to say bon voyage to those storms as say hello to a gorgeous weekend. On Friday, expect abundant sunshine, lower humidity, and a high in the mid 80s. The evening will be great to enjoy dinner outside!

Saturday, July 22:  Head to the beach or get to the pool because the weather on both Saturday and Sunday will be beautiful. The ample amounts of sunshine will stick around for our Saturday. The air is going to be so dry, it will be a fall-like air mass despite the temperatures still being seasonably warm.

Sunday, July 23:  Expect more of the same with sunny skies, dry air, and a near-average high temperature in the mid 80s.
