JoyRide Wilton doesn’t open officially for 10 days, but you can already book a spot in one of the high-energy, indoor cycling fitness classes online. The town’s first dedicated indoor cycling studio will launch with Preview Days on Thursday, July 16 and Friday, July 17 (followed by a Grand Opening on Saturday, July 18), but right now the only way to make sure you secure a spot in one of the classes is through the studio’s website.

“It’s very simple to book your bike online,” explains JoyRide Wilton owner Amy Pal. “You can start booking today for July 16 and 17 and beyond. The first ride is always free for anybody who comes through the doors. Plus classes on the Preview Days are free—it doesn’t count toward your first ride free, it’s just extra.”

Pal has her eyes on other ways to make sure her clients are happy and create partnerships with other businesses in Wilton as well. First up is a plan to offer “Cycle Lunch” three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday) with another newer business, Café Ruche.

“It’s a 45-minute noontime class, so people can get in and out faster. You can order your lunch before you go into the class, and we’ll have it waiting for you when you are done. It’s a really nice time-saver, and seamless. You can decide last minute, and it’s supposed to be simple” says Pal, adding, “We worked with [Café Ruche owner] Barbara Chopin, and she’s got the menu down. It’s kind of bespoke and custom, something that’s easily transportable and special for us.”

Not only was building those kinds of relationships in town one of Pal’s first priorities, but she also is looking for ways to give back to the community, even relatively soon after the opening. A model that’s worked well at her other JoyRide studio in Ridgefield are “spin-raisers,” a way to raise money through spinning.

“Our first spin-raiser is slated for the fall, in September, for Animals in Distress, the cat shelter in Wilton. I’m super excited about that. And we’re hoping to tie in the Pet Pantry next door, to get another neighboring business involved,” Pal says.
