The first half of the new week (April 24-30) in Wilton is going to be an ugly one with a return of the clouds and showers. There is hope, however, with sunshine and warmer temperatures making a very welcome arrival for the second half of the week and into the weekend.

Monday, April 24:  The days of cloudy, dreary weather make a return for the start of this week. A storm off the Southeast U.S. coast will begin to develop, stall, and slowly move up the East Coast. Monday will be the calm before the storm, with only mostly cloudy skies and seasonable conditions. I still think there will be some sunshine in the morning, though.

Tuesday, April 25:  Then on Tuesday, it will be the main event as the slow-moving, elongated storm begins to spread its moisture into New England. Expect periods of light rain throughout the day in addition to the thick, low clouds that have been common the past several weeks. It will also be a chilly day because of the east wind. Most of the time when there’s an east wind, you know it’s not going to be a nice day.

Wednesday, April 26:  As the very weak low makes “landfall” on Southern New England, it will continue to bring in showers Wednesday. The key with this forecast, however, is that there will be a northerly component to the wind, so it will be about ten degrees warmer than Tuesday. By the time the rain comes to an end, the rain Tuesday through Wednesday will be very light, only amounting to around half an inch.

Thursday, April 27:  The sunshine will thankfully return for Thursday with periods of sun and clouds in the forecast. Also a big warm up is on the way beginning Thursday. Highs for the day should reach the low 70s!

Friday, April 28:  It will still be nice and warm heading into Friday with a mix of sun and clouds expected along with the warm, comfy conditions. High temperatures should hit the upper 70s! There is the chance for a shower, but the cold front, which is where the showers will be found, is appearing to weaken before it arrives to Wilton.

Saturday, April 29:  The weekend is trending to be nice. On Saturday, it should be gorgeous, featuring picture perfect mostly sunny skies. It will be a great spring day with that spring warmth in the 70s.

Sunday, April 30:  Sunday will be a pretty similar day in terms of sky conditions as Saturday with mostly sunny skies in the forecast, but highs will be cooler only in the upper 60s, but that’s still above the average high.
