Town officials announced the winners of the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Poster Contest” that was part of the Town of Wilton‘s participation in the America Recycles Day, an initiative sponsored by Keep America Beautiful. The contest was sponsored by the Town of Wilton and the Zero Waste Schools Committee for students in grades K-12.

Students were asked to design posters around the theme of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,” with artwork demonstrating the right ways to deal with recyclable materials, such as reducing single use plastics, reusing containers, or properly recycling materials based on the Town’s recycling program.

Posters were judged by First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice, Wilton Go Green, and members of the Zero Waste Schools Committee. One winner was chosen from each of the following grade categories:  K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Winners will receive a Wilton Chamber of Commerce gift certificate.

All posters submitted will be displayed at Town Hall until Dec. 15, at which time the winning posters will be displayed permanently in the First Selectwoman’s office. Other posters may be picked up after Dec. 15 at the Office of the First Selectwoman.
