At the Monday, Aug. 3 Board of Selectmen‘s meeting, first selectman Bill Brennan announced that the town of Wilton’s finance department was recognized for excellence in financial reporting. They received this certificate of achievement from the Government Finance Officers Association.
Brennan presented the awards to Sandy Dennies (pictured above), the town’s chief financial officer, and Rich McArdle, Wilton’s controller. He noted that this is the second time they’ve received the award. “We’re very pleased. Thanks and great job.”
Brennan added that the award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting.
61 Connecticut towns received this award. Apparently, all you have to do is apply.
