Trackside Amps Up Teen Programs

The following is a press release from Trackside Teen Center.

For Wilton students or parents of a student in grades 6-12 looking for ways to stay busy and be involved in the community, then look no further than Trackside, The Teen Center of Wilton. Trackside offers numerous opportunities for teens to be active participants in the Wilton community. From open hours to dances, from band nights to clubs, Trackside provides it all.

Trackside’s open hours for grades 6-12 are from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. every Monday-Thursday and 3 p.m.-7 p.m. every Friday. During these hours, teens are welcome to utilize all areas of Trackside. The “Snackside” café is always open and the conference room is available as a quiet space to do homework while the video game room and the game room are available to wind down after a day of school.

Trackside also offers the opportunity for teens to be involved in the hands-on development of teen event planning as members of the Student Governing Board (SGB). Believing in the motto, “For the Teens, By the Teens,” the staff at Trackside adamantly seeks the help of teens to brainstorm, create, and implement healthy, safe, and fun events. Not only does being a member of the SGB help teens develop strong social skills, aptitude in leadership, and an ability to work with others, it also looks great on resumes and college applications. Meetings are held twice a month from on Wednesdays (check www.trackside.org for schedule). For more information on how to be involved with the SGB, contact Brett Beatty at Brett@trackside.org.

Several clubs and classes regularly take advantage of the great space at Trackside as well. Information, prices, and registration for clubs and classes is available on the trackside website as well.
