Two Library Programs Friday: Mammography Screening and Art Exhibit Opens

Wilton Library has two great–albeit very different–programs happening this Friday.

Mammography Screening

Wilton Library is teaming up with Stamford Hospital’s Mobile Wellness Program to help bring wellness to where people live, work, play and learn! Stamford Hospital’s Mobile Facility for Mammography Screening will be at the Library from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m..  The coach will be in the front parking lot of the library.

Services that will be offered include:  Screening Mammography (Women 35-39 years old – schedule a baseline mammogram; Women 40+ years old – schedule an annual mammogram). The hospital’s mobile service is fully digital, fast, convenient, and private. Insurance is accepted.  To schedule an appointment call 203.276.PINK (7465) and choose option 1.

Art Exhibition Opening Reception

The Library is inviting the public to an opening reception of their current exhibition, Aerial Grace & Altered Views:  Karen E. Gersch and Pam Rouleau, 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Painter Karen E. Gersch captures the dynamics and poetics of life under the big top with her portraits and scenics of acrobats, aerialists, jugglers and clowns. Celebrated photographer Pam Rouleau strays from conventional image-making, exploring historical and alternative photographic processes. Their work combined brings a rich palette of color, texture and daring line to the walls of Wilton Library.

A majority of the works will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the library. The reception is open to the public, and the exhibition runs through Monday, Sept. 29.

Wilton Library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Rd.. For more information visit the library’s website or call 203.762.3950.
