On Wednesday, Nov. 5, Wilton’s Alison Jacobson–a life coach, motivational speaker and author–will be headlining in front of the women’s business group Over 40 Females about becoming more confident professionally in order to be more successful.
Her presentation, “Overcoming the Fear of ‘No!’ – Giving It and Getting It,” will explore two of the most difficult issues for women in business: a lack of self-confidence and managing the work-life balance. She will provide strategies on eliminating the inner fear of saying “No” and how to objectively hear “No” in order to build your business.
“As women, we are constantly seeking approval and trying to please, it’s what we were taught as young girls and we’ve carried it into adulthood. We take it personally and question our ability when a client turns down our proposal or doesn’t purchase our products and services. We commit to things for our family and friends when we know we’re over extending ourselves. In the end we sabotage our ability to succeed,” Jacobson explains.
Over 40 Females is a national live and online women’s networking community that provides women the resources necessary to further their careers, start a business, create connections, gain financial freedom, enhance their spirituality, improve health awareness, and gain knowledge about fashion and beauty. A critical component of Over 40 Females is providing support to women in transition, both professionally and personally.
Jacobson’s talk will be held at The Delamar Southport, at 275 Old Post Rd. in Southport, 5-7 p.m.. The cost to attend is $25 for non-members who register in advance, or $30 at walk-in. Click here to register online.
