Westport Police have issued a road closure alert Tuesday morning, July 16 that may impact commuting for some drivers. It impacts the area near the Merritt Parkway’s Exit 41 on Wilton Rd., with a downed tree and electrical wires.
Advisory: AVOID Wilton Road at Red Coat Road for the next unknown timeframe due to a tree/ wires down.
“Westport Police advises you to AVOID Wilton Road due to a current traffic issue. A tree/electrical wires near Red Coat Road has closed Wilton Road just north of the Parkway and will require a detour of traffic for the next unknown time frame. Use Partrick Road to access areas northwest and use Newtown Turnpike eastbound for traffic northeast. Utility enroute to repair/ clear roadway.”
