The Wilton Conservation Commission is hosting a guided butterfly walk led by Victor DeMasi at Keeler’s Ridge Meadow on Sunday, July 10 at 1 p.m.. The walk is free and open to the public.

DeMasi is a widely published lepidopterist who specializes in swallowtails and preserves butterflies in Yale’s Peabody Museum of Natural History. He and his wife, Roanna, have explored these glorious creatures in the Amazon forests in Guyana, Nicaragua, and in the Southern California Montane Botanic Garden.

Attendees should wear closed-toe shoes, long pants tucked into socks, long-sleeved shirts and a hat. Refreshments will be served following the walk with an opportunity to ask questions. Please park along the split-rail fence that fronts Route 33, or just north of the property on Carriage Road.

Please register via email and include the number of people planning to attend and a phone number where you can be reached if the event is cancelled for any reason.
