The Wilton High School Boys Golf Team are collecting on behalf of two very worthy organizations:  First Tee and Birdies for the Brave.

The golfers are collecting new and used golf equipment in good condition for First Tee in Bridgeport. First Tee is a youth development organization that introduces the game of golf and reinforcing its inherent values–integrity, respect and perseverance through the game–to young people. Through after-school and in-school golfing programs, the charity helps shape the lives of young people from all walks of life.

The WHS golf team is also accepting monetary donations on behalf of Birdies for the Brave, PGA Tour-affiliated national military outreach initiative to provide direct support to U.S. military members, veterans, and their families ranging from financial aid, rehabilitation services, counseling and housing to educational scholarships and career development.

Members of the WHS golf team will be stationed at the Village Market today, Thursday, June 8 from 3:30-6:30 p.m., and at the Wilton Family YMCA this Saturday, June 10 from 9 a.m.-12 noon.
