The Wilton Baseball and Softball Association (WBSA) is inviting girls to try out for the 2015 Wilton Fastpitch Softball 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U Travel Teams.
Tryouts will be held Sunday, Aug. 10 at Middlebrook Middle School, 131 School Rd., at the softball fields behind the school and next to the tennis courts. Tryout times are 1 p.m. for 10U; 2 p.m. for 12U; and 3 p.m. for 14U and 16U. A second tryout will be held on Sunday, Sept. 7.
Eligible girls must be between the ages of 8 and 16 as of December 31, 2014. Girls trying out for 16U will have been born in the years 1998 or 1999; 14U girls need to have been born between 2000 or 2001; 12U girls need to have been born in 2002 or 2003; and 10U girls need to have been born between 2004-2006.
Blue Crush is looking for dedicated players for whom softball is their primary spring and summer sport. The season will run from early June through the end of July culminating in the end-of-season Fairfield Count Fastpitch Softball League (FCFSL) championship. Indoor workouts will take place from January through March.
Professional coaches will provide detailed, age-appropriate instruction to assist the girls in developing their Fastpitch Softball skills. The teams will play approximately 22-30 games each with several tournaments included and hold practices once or twice a week depending on the week’s game schedule.
