The Wilton Chamber of Commerce presents its annual Economic Forecast Breakfast, “Eggs & the Economy,” on Thursday, Jan. 14 at Marly’s Bar & Bistro, beginning at 8 a.m.. The event is an annual look at how the financial landscape is shaping up for the coming year. Dr. Nicholas Perna, chief economist of Webster Bank, returns as this year’s keynote speaker.

Perna is a magna cum laude graduate of Boston College and holds a Ph.D in economics from MIT. His economic background includes time with General Electric, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Connecticut National Bank and the President’s Council of Economic Advisors. Pena has served on the faculties of Williams College and NYU’s Stern School of Business, and he currently teaches a course on the U.S. banking systems at Yale and is a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. In 2002, he assumed his current position as economic advisor to Webster Financial Corporation.
