The following is a press release from the Town of Wilton.
Information and applications to the 2025 State of Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) Tax Credit Program has just been released by the CT Department of Revenue Services. This program offers a potential funding opportunity for the Town of Wilton and Wilton tax exempt organizations.
The NAA is designed so that a corporation business tax credit can be given to businesses that make cash contributions to municipal and tax-exempt organizations.
Businesses can receive a 100% tax credit of their approved contribution for investments in energy conservation projects and comprehensive college access loan forgiveness programs.
A tax credit equal to 60% of the cash gift is given to businesses that donate to programs that provide:
- Neighborhood Assistance
- Job Training
- Education
- Community Services
- Crime Prevention
- Construction or rehabilitation of dwelling units for families of low and moderate income in the state
- Donation of money to an open space acquisition fund
- Childcare Centers
- Employment and training programs directed at persons with physical disabilities
- Employment and training programs for recipients in the temporary family assistance program
- Community-based alcoholism prevention or treatment
- Any other program which serves a group of individuals where at least 75% of the individuals are at an income not exceeding 150% of the poverty level for the year immediately preceding the year during which the tax credit is to be granted
Businesses wishing to request a tax credit under the CT NAA Tax Credit Program must complete a separate Form NAA-02 for each program it wishes to sponsor. These forms will become available on Sept. 15 on the DRS website’s Neighborhood Assistance Act Tax Credit Program webpage. They will be accepted by electronic submission only to CT DRS until Oct. 1. Organizations wishing to apply to the program should:
- Complete the online 2025 CT Neighborhood Assistance Act Program Proposal 2025 Form NAA-01 and email it to Hadley Boyd, the Communications and Community Outreach Coordinator for the Town of Wilton, by May 22, 2025.
- Projects will be presented to the Board of Selectmen and voted on for approval at the June 2, 2025 Board of Selectmen meeting.
The Town of Wilton will be the overseeing municipal agency coordinating and submitting applications from interested Town of Wilton departments and Wilton tax exempt organizations. Town administrators are responsible for submitting all approved projects to the CT Department of Revenue Services (DRS) no later than July 1, 2025. An NAA-01 form will also be completed by the Town and included with each proposal.
