Savet Constantine and Ceci Maher, Exceptional Representation for Wilton in Hartford

To the Editor:

I am writing to enthusiastically endorse Ceci Maher for State Senator and Savet Constantine for State Representative in the upcoming 2024 Connecticut elections. These two Democratic candidates will provide exceptional representation for Wilton’s interests in Hartford.

Ceci Maher has proven her dedication to securing vital funding for education and infrastructure projects in our district. Her experience and established relationships in the legislature will continue to benefit Wilton residents. Savet Constantine, with her fresh perspective and passion for community service, is poised to advocate strongly for our town’s needs.

In these challenging times, states are on the front line for protecting women’s health and reproductive rights. Both Maher and Constantine have pledged to be fierce defenders of these fundamental freedoms, ensuring that Connecticut remains a stronghold against attempts to restrict access to reproductive healthcare.

Moreover, both candidates have impressive records of public service. Ceci Maher has worked tirelessly to expand mental health services for children and secure additional funding for local police departments. Savet Constantine has been recognized for her commitment to gun safety, earning endorsements from prominent organizations in this field.

I urge my fellow Wilton residents to support Ceci Maher and Savet Constantine on November 5th. Their dedication to public service and strong stance on critical issues make them the ideal choices for these important state offices.

Send Qualified Candidates Savet Constantine and Ceci Maher to Hartford

To the Editor:

Savet Constantine should represent Wilton (and Ridgefield and New Canaan), in Hartford. First, our community places a high value on quality education. Savet worked tirelessly in the PTA system to this end. She served in many capacities including as president.

As the chair of the Wilton Democratic Party nominating committee, Savet understood the various boards, committees and commissions and the work they do. Then she recruited and interviewed candidates for open positions. This gave her an opportunity to have a deeper understanding of our needs and how to address them.
Savet is on top of the issues and has risen to be our advocate on taxes, education, aiding seniors, having more diverse housing options and economic growth.

Ceci Maher should be reelected to the state senate. She has gained recognition rapidly as a skilled and effective legislator. The fact that she was invited to the White House because of her expertise indicates she is not only doing outstanding work but is notable for her work.

Let’s send Ceci and Savet to Hartford. This year will be the first year we can participate in early voting. Be sure you vote, whether early — beginning Oct. 21 — or on Election Day, Nov. 5.

Kim Healy’s Character Earns Your Vote

To the Editor:

I have had the privilege of knowing Kim Healy for many years, and I’m pleased to write a letter of support for her candidacy in 2024.

As a longstanding resident of the Wilton community, Kim Healy has given back to try to make Wilton a better place for the rest of us. She embraces many of the values that are important to my family. I’m not going to list her positions on the issues, as they are available on her website. I just want to share my thoughts about her character and why I’m voting for her.

I was brought up and told by my parents that our character is defined by what we do when no one else is looking. Kim is always trying to do the next right thing and looking for common sense solutions to the problems Wilton and Connecticut face economically, politically, socially and from a safety perspective.

Most importantly, she does this courageously. She’s endured hardships while campaigning and continues to this day to try to make our town and state a better place for everyone. She has the intellect, heart and courage to make it happen. She won’t back down. Kim is authentic. This is why she has my unwavering support.

Warm regards,

Chris Lineberger

Facts and Character Matter — Vote for Savet Constantine

To the Editor:

Kim Healy (Republican) was fact-checked in real time by Savet Constantine (Democrat) at the Wilton League of Voters Debate on Tuesday, Oct. 8. During the debate, Kim employed scare tactics to make a false political point. She wrongly stated that the crime rate in Connecticut has been increasing. In fact, the opposite is true. Statistically, the crime rate has been decreasing.

The facts show that overall, both violent and property crime rates are on the decline and well below the national average. Everyone wants a zero-crime rate. To that end, Savet shares this serious concern with Wilton residents and will work hard to tackle gun violence because, alarmingly, it is the leading cause of death for children.

Savet supports laws that reduce gun violence and also provide police the tools needed to support effective policing while protecting our Second Amendment rights.

Both CT Against Gun Violence and Moms Demand Action endorsed Savet Constantine for her support of common-sense gun safety laws that keep firearms out of the hands of individuals prohibited from possessing them and away from those who are a danger to themselves or to others.

I’m voting for Savet, join me. A vote for Savet Constantine is a vote for character and a champion in the fight against senseless crime and gun violence.

Ceci Maher and Savet Constantine Deserve Your Vote

To the Editor:

I encourage all of you, no matter your party, to vote for Ceci Maher and Savet Constantine for State Senator and Representative respectively.

Ceci has worked tirelessly as our State Senator to back the issues in Hartford that make a real difference in Wilton and beyond. She is a staunch advocate of local control as well as a backer of common-sense legislation on affordability, gun violence prevention, reproductive freedom, environmental protection and sustainability, and children’s mental and physical health.

Savet has demonstrated, through her years of volunteer leadership in Wilton and community involvement, the experience, ability, and knowledge to govern well. She will represent all Wiltonians; supporting the bipartisanship that she knows will really make a difference in our lives. Savet’s views on keeping our education system strong, protecting reproductive rights, lowering the local cost of living, supporting our seniors, lowering our tax burden, and building our economy simply make sense for Wilton as we face the challenges of the future.

Every time I am fortunate to speak with Ceci and Savet, I am impressed with their knowledge of the issues and their approach to getting things done. They are smart and passionate about helping everyone achieve their real-life goals. They are ready to serve as our elected team.

Republican Voting for Savet Constantine — Character, Capabilities and Leadership

To the Editor:

I’ve been a registered Republican but voted for Democrats in national elections as many times as Republicans based primarily on perception of the candidate’s character, capabilities and leadership abilities. Locally I usually know something about the individuals running, and I admire them all for being willing to give up a significant part of their lives for our benefit.

However, a choice must be made, and I heartily throw my support behind Savet Constantine to be our next State Representative. I’ve known Savet for 15-plus years and believe she will do her best to represent us all equally with thoughtful, wise deliberations, pragmatic solutions and kind intent.

Kim Healy, too, should be congratulated for her willingness to work hard on our behalf. I was disappointed, however, to read her prepared remarks this summer during a public Board of Selectmen meeting and in news articles that mischaracterized actions of Selectman Ross Tartell, a Democrat and one of the kindest, well-intentioned Wiltonians I know. Words have meaning, and comments regarding Ross’s actions belie Kim’s claim in her mailers to support “bipartisan” endeavors, civil discourse, and “no political games.” We don’t deserve mean-spirited politics anywhere, especially on the local level.

Savet has shown ardent commitment and collaborative leadership to advance the quality of Wilton schools for all.

I endorse Savet Constantine to serve as our next State Representative.
