GOOD To Applaud: Weir Farm National Historical Park Celebrates Impactful 2025

The Friends of Weir Farm National Historical Park celebrated an impactful year in 2025, supporting programs, preservation projects, and visitor engagement at Wilton’s unique National Historical Park for Art. In the last year, the park welcomed new Superintendent Julia Poland in September, and the Friends helped acquire a rare 1904 portrait of Dorothy Weir, now displayed in the historic Weir House. The park also launched its fun new B.A.R.K. Ranger program, connecting hundreds of pets and visitors through art and responsible recreation.
According to the Friends — the nonprofit fundraising organization associated with the Park — Weir Farm generates significant economic benefits to its local communities. In 2024 (the most recent reporting period), there were 34,200 visitors who spent an estimated $2.4 million in nearby gateway regions, supporting jobs and economic activity.
GOOD To Understand: Wilton’s Snowstorm Response

When a snowstorm of last week’s magnitude hits Wilton, it’s not just a matter of plows rolling out once the first flakes fall. Behind the scenes, Town officials and employees begin preparing days in advance — coordinating crews, staging equipment, monitoring forecasts and getting ready for what can quickly become an around-the-clock operation.
But the real work intensifies during the storm itself and in the critical days that follow. From keeping roads passable to responding to emergencies, managing public safety, and helping the community return to normal, Wilton’s storm response requires a massive and carefully orchestrated mobilization across multiple departments.
Read our story today about how it’s continuing — and what residents should know about everything involved as well as what their own responsibilities are in the days after a storm.
