There were 22 Wilton gymnasts among the 1,900 athletes who represented the best of YMCA Gymnastics from across the nation at the YMCA National Gymnastics Championship, hosted by the Greater Philadelphia YMCA, from June 20-24.
Over its 86-year history, YMCA Gymnastics Nationals has launched many athletes into notable collegiate and professional careers in the sport. The event included an Opening Ceremony that featured a parade of athletes as well as a keynote address by Yul Moldauer, a 2020 Olympian and seven-time NCAA Champion, who clinched two World medals.
Wilton gymnast Blake Bartlett (Level 2) reflected on her overall experience attending the event. “I think that I did a good job at Nationals. It was hard! My favorite part was Opening Ceremony — I really liked walking out with friends. I want to go again next year!”
