Wilton Hockey Night returns for the second year with fast-paced ice hockey, a celebration of youth sports, free hot chocolate and baked goods, and the chance to win a variety of prizes and bid on auction items. The second annual Wilton Hockey night will take place Saturday, Mar. 1 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at the Wilton High School hockey team‘s home rink, the Winter Garden Ice Arena in Ridgefield.
The main event is the WHS boys varsity hockey game versus the Joel Barlow/Weston/Abbott Tech co-op team at 8 p.m. Before and during the game, auction and prize draw items will be available for bidding including autographed NHL jerseys from Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Alexander Ovechkin and Auston Matthews. Attendees can also participate in “Chuck-a-Puck” where fans throw numbered pucks onto the ice to win prizes.
“Last’s year Hockey Night was a great success — we were so appreciative of all the fans and especially loved hearing from those who hadn’t been to a hockey game before and commented on how much fun it was. Ice hockey is one of the most exciting sports to watch — it’s fast moving and has constant action,” WHS boys hockey coach Mark Mangino said. “It’s a great way to spend a Saturday night, see friends and support the hometown team. Come help us pack the barn!”
Wilton students of all ages can enter for free. All attendees will get a free rally towel and raffle ticket. Youth players interested in meeting the Wilton High School varsity players can do so after the game.
