The Wilton Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Wilton will be hosting a Winter and Holiday Stroll this Friday, Dec. 1 beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the Town Green. There will be a variety of activities for everyone to enjoy.
The evening will start with music by the Wilton High School band and Sarah Lee Michaels’ The Voice Studio carolers on the Town Green. Santa Claus will arrive at 5:30 p.m. and help First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice kick off the holiday season with the lighting of the tree on the Town Green. Santa won’t be heading back to the North Pole right away as he will stay at the gazebo to hear children of all ages share their holiday wishes–plus he’ll have a special treat for each child.
Celebrate the magic of the holidays and join in the festivities with Wilton’s retailers, restaurants and local businesses. Everyone is invited to stroll through town, shop and enjoy the generous hospitality of these local businesses. The Chamber of Commerce will be handing out certificates to attendees to present to participating businesses to receive holiday shopping specials throughout the weekend. A variety of businesses have signed up to participate, including Open House Gift Shop, B-Chic, Coldwell Banker, Wilton Hardware, and Halstead Property.
The Economic Development Commission will once again host a Campfire and Marshmallow Roast at Schenck’s Island. Bring your own roasting stick-marshmallows will be provided. The fire will be at full roar by 6:30 p.m. and will run until 8:00 p.m..
Stop by the Wilton Library to enjoy refreshments and the warmth of the fireplace and visit the Holiday Book Sale and Art Exhibition for holiday gift giving. Take an ‘ornament’ from the Giving Tree to help the Library with its wish list, there is something for everyone.
The Wilton Woman’s Club Junior Leadership Program will also be at the Wilton Holiday Stroll, and they invite all to stop by their Giving Tree and donate to Wilton Social Services.
