The Wilton Playshop is presenting Young Frankenstein, directed by Mat Young with musical direction by Zachary Kampler and choreography by Rachel Schultz. The show will run from Oct. 27-Nov. 11. Young Frankenstein features a book by three-time Tony Award winner Mel Brooks and three-time Tony Award winter Thomas Meehan with music and lyrics by Brooks.
Young Frankenstein is a brilliant stage creation adapted from the legendary funny film of the same name. Frederick Frankenstein inherits a castle in Transylvania that’s home to Igor, Inga and Frau Blucher. After discovering the secret entrance to his grandfather’s laboratory, Frederick decides to carry on the family experiments and creates a monster of his own. With such memorable tunes as “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend,” “Please Don’t Touch Me,” and “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” Young Frankenstein is sure to be a monstrously good time.
Among the cast in the show are two of Wilton’s own, resident Peter Haynes and Wilton dentist Dr. James Aris.
Performances are at 8 p.m. on Oct. 27, 28 and Nov. 2, 3, 4, 9,10 and 11; and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 29 and Nov. 5. Tickets are $30 for adults, and $25 for seniors and students. Ticket prices are discounted $5 on Thrifty Thursdays.
