UPDATE — 5:30 p.m.: Wilton Police have confirmed that 77-year-old Voula Zargos was located in Denver, PA. Deputy Police Chief Rob Cipolla confirmed that she has been found and is safe.
Police have canceled the Silver Alert.
According to First Selectman Toni Boucher, Wilton’s Police Department worked closely with state police bureaus in New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania to locate Zargos. Boucher said that Zargos did not have a cellphone with her so tracking was done using license plate readers and helicopters.
“Hats off to everyone, particularly our police department for giving us a happy ending and an early holiday gift that the family will be reunited, … and to law enforcement that got on this right away,” she said. callling it “very happy… wonderful news.”
BREAKING NEWS — Wednesday, Dec. 18, 12 p.m.: The Wilton Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for Voula Zargos, age 77, of Bridgeport. She is a white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown eyes and white hair.
She was last seen dressed in all black clothing as she appears in the photo above. Zargos’ last known location was dropping a relative off at Middlebrook School in Wilton on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m.
Her vehicle was identified using license plate reader technology in Croton-on-Hudson, NY on Dec. 17 at 9:40 p.m. Her car is a 2012 green Honda CRV with the license plate 769MZN.
