Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas was in Wilton on Monday, Sept. 16, at an appreciation event for Wilton’s poll workers, organized by Wilton’s Registrars of Voters Karen Birck and Annalisa Stravato. First Selectman Toni Boucher attended also.
The event was held as the election season heads to the home stretch, with just seven weeks until Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5. According to Birck, in preparation for a “busy, critically important election season,” the event was to thank the individuals who staff Wilton’s polling precincts, noting that they are instrumental in “mak[ing] our democracy work.”
Refreshments for the event were provided by the Wilton League of Women Voters.
