Each week the Wilton Town Clerk’s office releases data for the prior week’s real estate transactions. For the one-week period from June 25-July 1, 2021, Town Clerk Lori Kabak reported 13 properties transferred to new owners.

One of those properties was 141 Danbury Road, the former site of the Melissa and Doug corporate office, which sold for $3,700,000.

The property was purchased by FDSPIN 141 DR, LLC, a developer who is pursuing a 173-unit housing complex on the 4.2-acre site.

GOOD Morning Wilton has covered the proposed development’s pre-application review by the Planning and Zoning Commission as well as the Architectural Review Board. Those reviews, which only recently took place in June, revealed there was still much more work to be done by the developer before the project has a chance of gaining approval. A conceptual rendering is shown below.

In close step with the pace set in preceding weeks, there were also 12 residential properties that changed hands last week, including six that sold above $1 million. The highest-selling price reached the $2 million mark.

  1. Melissa and Doug former site will be a mess with vehicles pulling out of and turning into that driveway on a narrow, antiquated stretch of Route 7. Crazy how small minded this state can be. “Let’s add hundreds of apartments…a second southbound lane on Route 7, well that can wait”. Say goodbye to Wilton as we knew it.
