Wilton residents pitched in to help the town with its spring cleaning this past Saturday, volunteering at the annual Town-wide Cleanup Day sponsored by the Wilton Conservation Commission. As officials kicked off the cleanup, representatives from Keep America Beautiful were on hand to present the Town of Wilton with a certificate for becoming a full affiliate of the national organization.

Over the last year the Town of Wilton has met all of the requirements for full affiliate status, including having town officials participate in training as well as implementing Keep America Beautiful programs. Wilton’s Environmental Affairs Department, headed up by director Mike Conklin, has helped lead several programs, including recycling and litter clean-up efforts that have complemented community initiatives through Wilton Go Green and the Wilton PuRblic SchoolsZero Waste Initiative.
