Olé! An Evening of Flamenco and Tapas for Circle of Care
Earlier this month Circle of Care‘s Jeff and Liz Salguero (who co-founded the pediatric cancer organization) hosted 2018 auction winners Jenn and Raj Wadehra and friends to a taste of Spain at their home in Wilton. Flamenco artist and instructor Yohanna Escamilla donated her time for instruction, while the Salgueros provided a delicious assortment of tapas, sangria, Spanish wines, and a paella to the dancers and spouses. Live Music at Circle of Care’s Barn HQ
On Sunday, Sept. 15, Circle of Care hosted an afternoon of live music at their historic barn headquarters at Lambert Corner, all to benefit making a difference in the lives of children with cancer. Guests enjoyed entertainment from Wilton bands SoulTonic, Captain Obvious and Joni & the Keepers, with special guest Miss Connecticut, Jillian Duffy, herself a childhood cancer survivor.
Woodcock Nature Center Celebrates by Moonlight
Guests celebrated in Woodcock Nature Center‘s picturesque candlelit pavilion for “Under the Harvest Moon” a sold out evening to benefit the center’s programs. They enjoyed delectable eats from Sarah’s Wine Bar crafted from a selection of produce donated from local farms including Wilton’s Ambler Farm, as well as a sampling of artisanal cheeses and appetizers from No. 109 Cheese & Wine, a generous wine-tasting selection from Ridgefield’s Cellar XV Wine Market, and a tasting with craft brewers from Nod Hill Brewery.
Wilton Golfers Help Raise $170,000 for Maritime Aquarium
John Reynolds (far left) and Rob Lattimer (3rd from left) of Wilton teamed with Charlie Hinnant (Norwalk) and James Mecca (Fairfield) as the winning foursome during the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk’s 9th annual Maritime Golf & Tennis Classic on Sept. 9 at Wee Burn Country Club. More than $170,000 was raised by 114 area business professionals to support the Aquarium’s education and conservation efforts.
