[GOOD Morning Wilton will update this page throughout the evening.]

We’ll be working late into the evening as reports come in to update GOOD Morning Wilton readers about voting results. GMW will have people at Wilton’s three voting precincts as soon as polls close at 8 p.m. to report preliminary totals.

But…

… we caution everyone to remember that early results are just that — early and preliminary. Considering that more than 55% of Wilton residents voted before Election Day, we’ll have to wait for additional vote tallies from absentee ballots and early voting.

As always, our focus is local. Our top two races that we’re monitoring closely are for State Representative 42nd District and State Senator 26th District — those local legislators that will represent Wilton in the CT General Assembly in Hartford. We’ll be in touch with the candidates and campaigns through the evening with reactions and comments.

We’ll be monitoring reports from around the districts and state as other results come in and updating everything here. Check back frequently throughout the evening.

Update 12:30 PM—We have unconfirmed reports of Wilton absentee ballots and early voting totals for one race: in the State Representative 42nd District race, Democrat Savet Constantine won 4,056 votes to Republican Kim Healy‘s 3,078. Added to today’s Election Day votes, that puts Constantine ahead 5,622 to 5,237.

In addition, DecisionDeskHQ.com shows Healy topped Constantine in New Canaan 467-276. However, a Democratic source said Constantine appears to have won Ridgefield, 576 to 551. While these numbers still need to be confirmed by Wilton Registrars, it appears Constantine will beat Healy by about 210 votes.

Update 11:20 PM—We are still waiting for vote counts from the registrars for absentee ballots and early voting — which account for 55.4% of eligible voters. The Associated Press shows Wilton has not reported any results.

The Associated Press did call two Connecticut races very early — Chris Murphy (D) has won reelection according to the A.P., and he will return to the U.S. Senate. The A.P. also called Connecticut for Harris/Walz.

Update 10:15 PM—Preliminary returns show in-person votes from Tuesday, Nov. 5. There were 3,725 votes cast at the three districts — or 28.6% of eligible voters (as of Monday, Nov. 4). So keep in mind, this is still a small percentage of Wilton voters. We’re still waiting for absentee ballot numbers, early voting numbers, and election-day registration votes. And as of Monday, votes cast by absentee ballot and early voting represented over 55.4% of eligible voters — so these totals could change a great deal.

No-Excuse Absentee Voting Amendment

State Representative 42nd District

Because Kim Healy (R) appeared on the ballot on two lines, we’ve broken out the votes she got from each party that endorsed her — Republican and Independent. The ‘unknown’ line indicates voters who checked off both Republican and Independent options. In that case, Healy received just one vote, considered an ‘unknown party.’ Healy’s total number of votes reflects all the votes she got from the different ballot lines.

State Senator 26th District

Because Kami Evans (R) appeared on the ballot on two lines, we’ve broken out the votes she got from each party that endorsed her — Republican and Independent. The ‘unknown’ line indicates voters who checked off both Republican and Independent options. In that case, Evans received just one vote, considered an ‘unknown party.’ Evans’ total number of votes reflects all the votes she got from the different ballot lines.

Wilton Registrar of Voters

Because Chris Murphy (D) appeared on the ballot on two lines, we’ve broken out the votes he got from each party that endorsed him — Democratic and Working Family. The ‘unknown’ line indicates voters who checked off both Democratic and Working Family options.
