Spring-like temperatures will return for the first half of this week (Feb. 27-Mar. 5), but then cooler temperatures will follow by the end of the week, bringing Wilton’s weather back to reality.

Monday, Feb. 27:  On Monday, it will be a great start to the week. You’ll want a jacket or a light coat in the morning because there will be a chill to the air, but by the afternoon, temperatures will soar into the mid 50s under mostly sunny skies. Winds will be gusty at times, however, so it will feel slightly cooler than the apparent temperature.

Tuesday, Feb. 28:  Then next storm I’m tracking will begin to set up shop for our Tuesday. I think the morning will be dry with mostly cloudy skies. Rain showers may then enter the picture during the afternoon and evening. It will be light, but it will still be rain to close off the month of February.

Wednesday, Mar. 1:  Then second parts of this storm will take place on Wednesday. It will not be a washout of a day, but periods of showers and thunderstorms are likely throughout your Wednesday. The thing that I’m sure most of you will love about this day are the 60 degree temperatures. The models have been trending upwards with the high temperatures, so maybe we’ll be able to peak into the mid to upper 60s.

Thursday, Mar. 2:  Now the signs of winter returning will begin this Thursday. Temperatures will be dropping like a rock throughout the day. In the morning, it will be in the low 50s; by the evening, temperatures will be down to the low 40s and upper 30s. In terms of sky conditions, it will be partly cloudy. That sun will feel nice, but what will not feel nice are the howling winds gusting up to 40-50 mph, making for another negative to the day.

Friday, Mar. 3:  On Friday, winter really takes hold because there’s the slight chance for snow. It appears that the snow will remain south of town, but that can certainly change so it can’t be ruled out just yet. Otherwise there will be a blend of sun and clouds accompanied by even cooler temperatures for the end of the week.

Saturday, Mar. 4:  This weekend looks to be a beautiful one. Saturday looks especially pretty featuring mostly sunny skies, but it’ll still be chilly. High temperatures will actually be below average, which hasn’t happened that much this winter, only in the upper 30’s.

Sunday, Mar. 5:  The cool down will be brief as warmer air surges back in, once again, for our Sunday. Expect a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures back up to around 50 degrees, which is above the average high of 44 degrees.
