The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20.

Heavy mixed precipitation is possible, along with total snow accumulations of 4-8 inches and ice accumulations of one-tenth to one-quarter of an inch. This alert was issued Thursday afternoon for portions of southern CT, including Wilton, as well as northeast New Jersey and southeast New York

With that alert comes other warnings:  travel could be very difficult, and strong wind gusts Sunday afternoon into the night could bring down tree limbs and power lines.

Of course that’s on top of an expected coating of snow Friday morning…stay tuned for updates on school delays or cancellations on GOOD Morning Wilton.
