The following is a letter sent to GOOD Morning Wilton by the organizers of the Care-oke Fundraiser for Person-to-Person that was held at Bianco Rosso on Thursday, Dec. 11. Two Wilton friends, Lora Sherman and Lynne DiNanno, planned a fun karaoke evening to benefit the Norwalk- and Darien-based agency that helps people in poverty meet basic needs of food and shelter. They invited Wilton residents to come to their fundraiser/food drive event, which they called the “Jingle Bell Rock ‘Care-oke for a Cause’ Ladies’ Night Out.”
For those of you who were able to make it last night…a HUGE THANK YOU! You are ALL ROCKSTARS!! It was so nice to see you all take time for yourself to have some fun…while indeed helping others!
Last night’s event raised close to $1,800…and a lot of peanut butter and jelly!!
We were happy to have Ceci Maher (executive director of Person-to-Person), as well as Kimberly Johnson there to join us as well!
For those of you who are not familiar with Person-to-Person, please check them out at www.p2pHelps.org. Their service area includes residents of: Norwalk, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton, Westport & Weston. Some of their programs include Emergency Assistance, Food Pantries, Clothing Care, Scholarship, Campership and Holiday Programs.
We would also like to thank those of you who were not able to attend but kindly contributed, as well as local businesses like Signature Style and CHASE! Lastly, we want to thank Mario Lopez and his wonderful staff at Bianco Rosso for enabling us to have our event at his beautiful restaurant!
Enjoy the holidays knowing we ALL made a difference!
Wilton, ONCE AGAIN, came together to help others!
Keep caring Wilton!
Lynn and Lora
