UPDATE 4:37 PM: The National Weather Service has now upgraded it’s caution, to a “Winter Storm Warning,” for HEAVY SNOW. The “warning” signifies that “severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.”
4:00 p.m. National Weather Service meterologists are predicting a winter storm for Wilton Saturday, with snow accumulations possibly reaching 6-10 inches.
Temperatures will reach a high of only 24-degrees. Snow is likely to begin falling mainly after 10 a.m. Saturday and will continue all day and night, becoming heavier Saturday evening into Sunday morning. After midnight the snow will turn to a mix of snow and sleet and blustery winds are expected to develop. Look for snow cover of 6-10 inches with ice mixed in.
