Once again Wilton Center lampposts are bedecked with scarecrows, thanks to the Wilton Chamber of Commerce. There are 36 different scarecrows created by groups that included Girl Scout troops, Wilton Children’s Theater, the Wilton YMCA, Kiwanis Club of Wilton and more, plus businesses including Signature Style, Realty Seven and others, plus churches and schools.

Joining the Chamber in sponsoring the Scarecrows are Trackside Teen Center, the Parks and Recreation Department and the Department of Public Works.

For the second year in a row, the Town of Wilton has created a Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt. Enjoy the scarecrows while searching for items on select entries. Print a Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt form (available on the town website under News and Announcements, or here, at the end of the article), and start looking for items on select scarecrows around Wilton Center, and record your findings on the form.

Drop your completed form in the designated box at Lang’s Pharmacy (28 Center St.) or Wilton True ValueHardware (21 River Rd.) by 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26. Prize drawing to be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the gazebo on the Town Green at the start of the Pumpkin Parade at 2:30 p.m.. The first three forms pulled from the box will win Wilton Chamber of Commerce gift certificates. All winners will be notified by email or phone. Participants/winners do not need to be present at the drawing.
