Woodcock Nature Center has opened ticket sales for its highly anticipated annual Wreath Festival. The popular event pairs decorating a 22-inch balsam wreath using unique materials with relaxing by a roaring fire among friends in Woodcock’s picturesque spaces. Each year, the festival welcomes over 600 guests and raises $90,000 for the nature center’s programs in environmental education.
Woodcock offers several days and nights of “Celebrate & Decorate” wreath decorating and festivities, with sessions ranging from morning to evening between Dec. 2-13. Guests are invited to gather a group of friends, come with a buddy or as a couple for 2.5 hours — 30 minutes more than in past years — of decorating and socializing in the nature center’s warm and cozy pavilion or pond-side spaces. All Wreath Festival attendees should plan to bring their own food and drink.
Families are welcome at two “Family Day” open house wreath decorating events on Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. which includes fun, kid-friendly decorating materials, treats and a festive atmosphere. For those wishing to decorate at home, a limited number of To-Go Decorating Kits are also available.
New this year, participants may add “kid friendly” materials to the To-Go Decorating Kits for an additional $10 and all Wreath Festival participants may add a commemorative Woodcock ornament to their orders for $5 each. Ornaments can be placed on wreaths or used as festive holiday decoration at home.
