This year’s July 4th festivities were a little different than in years past–not only were they held on July 5th, due to a hurricane rain delay, but Cannondale Bicycles held a new event. They hosted a Bike Rodeo for Wilton kids, who were invited to bring their decorated bikes or stop by the Cannondale tent at the Wilton High School track to decorate them. The children then rode their bikes in a once-around lap around the track.

More than 25 kids took part in the parade, and two random participants were chosen to win bicycle helmets.

“Cannondale is thrilled to be back home in Wilton where we began in 1971. We could not think of a better way to celebrate Independence Day in Wilton than to host the town’s first patriotic bike parade,” said Beth Anne McMahon, a Wilton resident who is the director of retail marketing for Cannondale. “It was a fun event for kids and parents alike, and I was glad to be able to bring it to my town.”
