New Wilton Youth Council Executive Director

Wilton Youth Council announced a change in leadership. Wilton resident Chandra Ring has been named executive director, replacing Genevieve Eason, who is retiring.
According to the WYC newsletter, Ring took on the role after years of volunteering in other organizations on behalf of Wilton students.
She has been involved with the Wilton School District , managing a variety of student programs, and has served as president of the Middlebrook PTA and Wilton Youth Field Hockey. She will continue to serve as both president and a coach for the latter group.
Ring has also worked on WYC’s Free Play Task Force and is currently involved in the newly-formed Wilton Youth Sports Coalition. Ring’s background makes her a good fit for WYC: she has a masters’ degree in counseling for higher education, and she also has a background in student development and event planning.
Eason volunteered for several years with WYC before becoming the organization’s first executive director in 2018.
Wilton Encore Club Celebrates 50 Years
After a long COVID delay, the Wilton Encore Club was finally able to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The happy occasion took place at the elegant Oak Hill Estate at St. Philip’s Church in Norwalk. The celebration was chaired by Dolores Cunningham and Carol Kopfmann. A delicious buffet was catered by Dan Cunningham, beautiful floral arrangements were done by Sue Wall and festive piano music was provided by Joe Holmes and Joe McWilliams.
The Wilton Encore Club was founded in 1970 after a group of women left the Newcomers’ Club but wanted to continue their fun activities and meaningful friendships. The club is open to all women living in Wilton or surrounding towns. It sponsors activities from September through June. Activities range from monthly luncheons and brunches, bridge, mahjongg, evening socials and more. More information can be viewed on the Wilton Encore Club website.
