Public Hearing at P&Z for New, 3,350 Sq. Ft. Package Store Planned for Wilton
At Monday evening’s (Sept. 9) Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, the commission will open a public hearing for an application it received for a new package store planned for south Wilton.
An applicant under the name of Hilltop Beverages, LLC has submitted a special permit application to convert an existing unoccupied retail space at Gateway Shopping Center at 14 Danbury Rd. into a package store.
Based on floor plans and square footage found online, it appears as if the 3,350 sq. ft. space for the proposed store would be subdivided from a larger existing vacant corner space formerly occupied by the Mrs. Greens market. A floor plan has also been drafted and is included with the application, which was submitted in July.
The applicant is represented by attorney J. Casey Healy of the Wilton law firm Gregory and Adams.

Wilton’s American Legion Launches GoFund Me Campaign
Wilton’s American Legion Post 86 has started a GoFund Me campaign to raise money for some much-needed upgrades to the building it occupies on Old Ridgefield Rd. For this year’s 100th anniversary of the American Legion, GOOD Morning Wilton thought it would be a wonderful gesture for more people to join in supporting the Post’s efforts.
“We are upgrading our building, which was built in 1938 and not updated. We want to upgrade the front steps, install an outside faucet for water, update the steps into the basement and build a pavilion in the back yard of Post.”
The fundraising goal is $5,000; as of press time, $425 has been raised thus far.
