This Friday night, Wilton Varsity Cheer and Football and the WHS Marching Band are inviting the public to help spread a little cheer as the Wilton High School Warriors take on Westport’s Staples High School Wreckers. They are hoping both to cheer the Warriors football team to victory and STUFF THE BUS to benefit the Wilton Food Pantry. All game attendees are invited to bring food donations and household goods and drop them at the bus parked in the lower Cider Mill Parking Lot, next to the paved entrance to WHS Memorial Stadium.
The Wilton Food Pantry appreciates donations of paper goods, juice boxes, detergent and dry goods. (Please check expirations dates, and please no tuna, canned salmon, canned vegetables or beans, as the pantry already has plenty of those items in stock.)
The game is also YOUTH NIGHT, as all Wilton Youth football players and cheerleaders are going to be celebrated at the game’s halftime, following the Marching Band’s performance. Youth athletes should wear their uniforms and jerseys–anyone in uniform (even youth coaches) get free admission to the game.
Spectators can also get in on the fun, as the Warriors hope for a ‘Whiteout’ in the stands. The team is inviting all spectators to wear white! Select attendees will receive a free t-shirt.
Game kick-off is at 7 p.m. on Friday Sept. 19 at WHS Memorial Field.
