Getting to the polls to vote on Election Day is important this year, and for Wilton residents without a way to get to the polling places on Tuesday, Nov. 8, there are three local organizations offering to provide transportation to anyone in need.

Parks & Recreation

According to Parks & Rec director Steve Pierce, Dial-A-Ride will be available for rides to the polls on Election Day. Rides will cost $1.00 each way. In order to qualify for town transportation, riders must be senior citizens or disabled and call at least 24 hours in advance for a ride. The Dial-A-ride phone number is 203.834.6235, and Pierce emphasizes the need to call by Monday, Nov. 7 to reserve a ride.

Wilton Democratic Town Committee

Wilton Democrats are offering rides to the polls all day on Nov. 8. To book a ride with Wilton Democrats, call Deb McFadden, DTC chair at 203-856-4046.

Wilton Republican Town Committee

The Wilton Republican Town Committee announced it “…will be providing seniors who are otherwise unable to get out and vote ride services to the their respective polling place to enable them to vote in this year’s election.” To schedule a ride, seniors can contact ride-coordinator and RTC chair Al Alper by calling 203.296.3664 or via email.
