Residents who aren’t happy with the amount assessed on their vehicles by the town still have an opportunity to appeal. Wilton officials posted a notice on the town’s website reminding residents that hearings are scheduled in September for anyone interested in appealing their 2018 motor vehicle assessments.

The Board of Assessment Appeals will be holding hearings on 2018 motor vehicle assessments on Wednesday, Sept. 11 and Thursday, Sept. 12. While appointments are no longer available for the first day, there is still an opportunity to schedule an appeal on Sept. 12.

According to the legal notice published by the town, the appeal hearings are scheduled for Sept. 11 from 5-7 p.m. and Sept. 12 from 2-3:45 p.m.; both hearings will take place in Meeting Room B at Town Hall. Deliberations will happen from 4-5 p.m. on Sept. 12, immediately after the end of the hearing.

To schedule an appeal hearing, residents are required to make an appointments; to do so, call the Wilton assessor’s office at 203.563.0121 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Town offices will be closed next Monday, Sept. 2, for the Labor Day holiday.
