This makes all of us at GOOD Morning Wilton sad—krik-it, the children’s clothing store, is closing its doors for good on August 23.
Not only do tax-free exemptions for this week’s tax holiday apply to most of the items in the store, the owners have cut prices dramatically. “We do have clothing, accessories and backpacks for back-to-school at a discount. We really need to get rid of everything, including furniture and fixtures so we hope customers can come down and help us clean out,” said owner Melissa Thompson. Included amongst the merchandise that is discounted are fall 2013 items.
krik-it has been a fixture in the Stop & Shop plaza at 5 River Road since it opened six years ago. Their next-door-neighbor, Une Minette, is also closing on Friday. Together, the two stores sent out an email at the beginning of August to announce their unexpected closure, writing, “After 6 wonderful years Une Minette and krik-it will be closing their doors on August 23rd. We apologize for the short notice and change of plans. We have enjoyed every moment of our time here, and are so grateful for your patronage over the years.”
