A spot has opened on the Planning & Zoning Commission, with today’s resignation of commissioner Keith Rodgerson. In an email sent this afternoon to the first selectman’s office, Rodgerson tendered his resignation effective July 9.

As a Democrat, Rodgerson’s resignation leaves a spot on the P&Z Commission for the Democratic Town Committee to fill. The Democrats are the minority party on P&Z and so they have the opportunity to fill the seat.

In a letter published today, the DTC nominating committee chairman Paul Burnham asked for residents interested in serving on Wilton’s P&Z, Water Commission, or as a Board of Selectmen’s representative on the Wilton Library Association’s Board of Trustees to contact him. The letter said membership in the Democratic party is preferred but is not a prerequisite for consideration.
