Those distinctive, huge white tents are now up on the corner of the School Rd./Rte. 7 intersection, adjacent the tennis courts, and they are the telltale sign that another Minks to Sinks sale is about to start. The largest outdoor tag sale in CT, Minks to Sinks is a great place to find bargains on everything from kitchen and decorative items to furniture, garden and sports equipment, seasonal clothing, artwork, baby items, toys, bikes, antiques and collectibles, and so much more, including minks and sinks.

In fact, Minks to Sinks offers over 14,000 square feet of new and gently used merchandise under three large tents. Hundreds of shoppers, from all over Connecticut and surrounding states, come every year to buy items at bargain prices for their homes and families.

For over 84 years, Minks to Sinks has been enabling people to recycle items they have never used or no longer need by consigning or donating them for the sale.

Michelle Beck, the Minks to Sinks vice-chairman, grew up in Wilton and remembers going to Minks to Sinks when she was a child. “I used to buy t-shirts there for ten cents. As a kid, I looked forward to the sale every spring and fall.” Now as an adult, she’s thrilled to be able to volunteer at Minks to Sinks. “We adopted our children through Family & Children’s Agency, the Norwalk-based non-profit agency that provides social services to individuals and families in need in the surrounding communities. Minks to Sinks raises funds for this organization, so working at the sales has been a wonderful way for me to give back.”

Over 200 Minks to Sinks volunteers will be on hand throughout the week before the sale to price, organize and display all the donated and consigned items that come in. It is a daunting task, but every year, they come through and do what it takes to be ready to open for business on Saturday. Many of these volunteers have worked at Minks to Sinks sales for years, through often-trying conditions including heat waves, drenching downpours, high winds, and the occasional early snowstorm.

Minks to Sinks will be accepting consignments and donations at the tents on Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4 p.m.-6 p.m.; and Thursday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m..

People wishing to consign or donate items are encouraged to go to the Minks to Sinks website to review the list of items that Minks to Sinks does not accept before bringing their merchandise to the tents. The Fall sale opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. On Sunday, Oct. 2 from noon-4 p.m., all merchandise is 50-percent off. Shoppers can fill up a bag for $7 on Monday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m.–noon.
