Two Wilton Contenders for High School Players of the Week
There’s not just one but two potential Ruden Report “Players of the Week” from Wilton High School this week. The two athletes–field hockey star Emma Rothkopf and football powerhouse Tyler Previte–are both nominated for this week’s high school athlete fan polls on the website run by sports reporter Dave Ruden. But the only way they’ll each actually win the title is if every Wiltonian casts a vote for each of them and helps put Emma and Tyler ahead of the other nominees.
First up is Emma Rothkopf. This week is actually the second week in a row that she’s been on Ruden’s list of nominees for female Players of the Week. The varsity captain had three goals and one assist in Saturday’s overtime 4-3 win against Ridgefield–including the game-winning shot.
Vying for the male athlete title is Tyler Previte, whose performance in Saturday’s Homecoming game saw the Warriors defeat Fairfield Warde, 47-28. Previte was responsible for three of the touchdowns on the scoreboard, after rushing 100 yards and intercepting twice.
Visit the Ruden Report online to cast your vote for both of these Warrior athletes and encourage others to do so as well by sharing this article. The deadline is noon on Thursday, Sept. 27.
