First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice is hoping residents looking to connect with her will join her Tuesday, June 4 at noon for the first of regular “Walk with Lynne” sessions. She’ll be leaving from Merwin Meadows at noon, and walking through Wilton Center to Horseshoe Park, and she welcomes residents to join her to talk about any issues or topics they wish.
Vanderslice says she was inspired to start walking and talking with residents after attendance at monthly “Lunches with Lynne” began dropping. “People came when they had problems, and then when we fixed the problems, they stopped coming,” she said at Monday evening’s Board of Selectmen meeting. She said people regularly approach her at the Village Market and so she thought inviting people to talk with her as she walks would be a way to encourage a renewed constituent engagement.
Vanderslice plans to pause at Chess Park for any residents who would rather not walk. She will conduct the Walk with Lynne regardless of the weather, however–it’s rain or shine.
