Wilton High School rising sophomore Lindsay Groves gave her verbal commitment to Boston College Women’s Soccer coach, Alison Foley, this past Friday, July 22.

Groves’ passion has always been soccer, and it has been her dream to play at the collegiate level for a Division-1 program. She has made several trips to play on the BC campus through Prospect clinics, ID camps, and most recently with her CFC United ECNL team.

“I had the chance to visit BC a bunch of times over the past year. I fell in love with the campus, the coaches and the girls on the team. I’m really honored to now be a part of such an amazing school and program,” Groves said, adding, “My teammates and friends have all been so supportive. I’m really grateful, and can’t wait to play for Wilton this upcoming season!”

She also has thanks for her family:  “I also want to thank my parents for all the long drives, flights, and sitting through all the bad weather. Some of it was really hot, some of it was really rainy, but it was all worth it! I Love you guys.”

Groves was one of three Freshman to make the WHS Varsity Soccer team in 2015, under coach Freya Coombe, which made it to FCIACs and State Championships. A WHS Honor Roll student, she also plays for CFC United GU16 ECNL under Coach Todd Plourde.
