Wilton High School Theater secured four awards at the annual Halo Awards on Thursday, July 8.
Seven Angels Theater in Waterbury honored 59 high school theater departments all over Connecticut during the Halo Awards ceremony. The ceremony is typically a black-tie affair at the Palace Theater in Hartford but was pushed to a virtual setting due to COVID-19 precautions for the second year in a row.
The pre-recorded video includes award announcements, behind-the-scene pictures from rehearsals and performances, and heartfelt videos from various theater teachers and production directors commending their students’ achievements.
The casts and crews of WHS Theater were nominated for 20 awards for performances of two productions, WORKING and All in the Timing.
They won the following awards:
Best Specialty Ensemble in a Play: Matthew Huang, Nala Clarke, Emmy Baer, and Aki Lasher, All In The Timing
Best Performance by a Couple of Dynamic Duo in a Play: Timothy Grace and Sarah Bennett as (Leon and Mrs. Trotsky), All In The Timing
Best Contemporary Play: Cast, All In The Timing
Special Student Director Award: Brielle Flavin, All In The Timing
